Paia Maui gets a new bike and pedestrian path... now it's safer to get from Paia town to Baldwin Beach Park without going on the Hana Highway.
The Paia path is now almost open for bicycles and pedestrians.
After a long day of looking at north shore properties for sale, why not get yourself some new slippahs at the Paia Pharmacy and walk yourself to the beach to get wet.

That is a great idea for safety. I remember how busy the Hana Highway was, and this is a good improvement. Isn't Baldwin one of the big wind surfing beaches, or am I thinking of the beaches closer to the airport? Thanks for the reminder of paradise, Georgina.
Dang girl...you really do live in paradise! Austin has a large and extensive network of hike and bike trails and it's nice to see your part of the world doing this too!

Katerina - according to the Maui News, it's about 3,400 ft. I am adding a link to the blog - a story from the Maui News today. I thought it was complete, but apparently not! But it can be used already. Maui time I guess!
Sharon - Baldwin is not really a windsurfing beach.. you can find Kanaha Beach closer to the airport, and Hookipa on the other side of Paia. And of course Spreckelsville which isn't too far from Baldwin.
I think every community should have bike paths. One of my favorite things to do. When I lived in Florida where land was flatter and temps were more tropical, I rode a bike everywhere, especially at the beach. Great fun and great exercise too.
