I GOT MY FIRST MACBOOK!
I am so stoked that I have a new MacBook Pro finally. I have wanted one for a long time but kept putting it off. Well I hinted to my dear hubby that I wanted one for my birthday, and wouldn't you know it... now it's REALLY happened.
It's not really that much different that using a PC, but it seems to be a lot smoother. It sure does start up faster, which I can appreciate. (Of course just wait a few years until I have it clogged up with thousands of pictures and documents.) I like the searching feature that "stacks" things up for easy viewing. I really love the backlit keyboard - where have you been all my life!?
Okay, so am I using the MacBook to write this post? NO... still stuck in the past and using what's comfortable. I need to get a few more items still, so have been using both PC and Mac side by side. I hope to toss this PC aside soon and be totally Mac!
I'm really looking forward to learning all the great features that come with my new MacBook. I may be absent for a few days, and you know why - I will be watching a lot of tutorials and playing around.
Please feel free to offer some advice for this Mac newbie!
Aloha and thanks for reading this blog.

Georgina,
Well you will definitely have to update us once you become a Mac Wiz. I have several friends that are trying to convert me.
Larry - I know that story, many of my friends were the same!
Georgina, Congratulations...I have been wanting one myself. I have to wait but it's in my future, I think you're going to love it!
Georgina - I got a new MacBook Pro this week, too! I love it so far. :)
Oh, my - I'm here to testify for the Mac converts of the US. A Dell girl from the start, my husband and I just purchased an iMac this year after two PCs were fried. I'm absolutely loving the agility, the ease-of-use and the programs that are available with it. You're right, startup is a whiz! Congrats!
Hi Georgina. You didn't tell me you were having a birthday when I saw you on caravan...so, Happy Birthday!!!
I know the time is coming for me too :) one of these days, I can't wait! ~Rita
Hmmm I would have loved a MacBook for my birthday from a Hubby - but I guess I should get my own eh? lol
Oh, how exciting! My daughter has used a Mac for a few years now and loves it. One of these days I hope to catch up and have my own also. Have fun learning.
Thanks for all the positive feedback - and Happy Thanksgiving. Now, over to the Mac and get something done today.
Lucky you, Georgina! I must like having a Mac on my wish list, but I guess that's good because I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon (I just got a new netbook). Enjoy your MacBook Pro! :)
Leilani
Georgina, it must feel good to have a Mac. I got mine a few months ago and after maxing out with more memory, a bigger hard drive, the Parallel software so I could run Windows XP, special covering, etc. it cost me about $3000. But I can tell you that it would be worth it.
I still use my PC here and there, but perfer to take my macbook Pro when I go out to StarBucks every day.
Leilani - I am really enjoying it!
Song - ya it's not cheap is it! I got Parallels up and running so now I can do the MLS stuff. Got the keyboard cover too.
Love our MacBook Pro computers and we are planning on upgrading our administrative team with the new iMac 27 inch models. I have found with the MacBook Pro you can have the best of both worlds plus a MUCH higher quality machine.
