Hi Georgina~  They are really cute goats!  Too funny, you wouldn't expect to see goats in Maui, although I have never been there, so I wouldn't really know!

Georgina,

Goats? Cute, I've been there many times myself, yet I've never seen them myself.

Yes we have goats on Maui!  These are really tame ones too.  They were trimming the overgrown grass at a house for sale.  We actually have a really good small goat dairy here (Surfing Goat Dairy), and I guess I should post a blog about that.  Wild goats are also taking over some remote parts of the island, and it's open season most of the time.

Thanks for the comments!

They look like they want to play. I'll never forgot one time a goat started chewing on my wife's hair at a farm...I don't think she likes them anymore!

You got up close and personal with the goats, Georgina?  The one in the second photo looks like he's very curious about your camera.  I didn't know that there were goats in Maui.  Do they surf?

Debbie and William - thanks for the reality check - It's been removed from that group.  Actually there are enough words to get the post points, but you're right, not enough story to qualify as a "photo blog".  Next time I'll get more talkative.

The camera is a Pentax Optio, a very good pocket size camera that I'm really happy with.

Georgina,

Who brought the first ones to the island. They're pretty funny looking.

Georgina - they certainly are inquisitive ... they almost look like statues ... they do not seem to have moved from one picture to the next except for the upturned ear on one in the lower picture

in keeping with Liz's comment you could use the lower picture for

staging "we can help you with curb appeal" or " we can freshen up your yard"

home inspector "we will uncover the root cause of any issue"

real estate "can we help you"

Wow these goats are popular - they were standing up on a high wall, but were very curious so I snapped the pictures.

We are using herds of goats in our backcountry to eat the brush that burns each fall during fire season. In some places, the goats are being too successful; barren ground is subject to mudslides when the rain season comes.
