Haiku Maui HI - Door of Faith Road video

On the north shore of Maui, in Haiku, there's an area known as Huelo.  One of the main roads in Huelo is called Door of Faith Road.  It's about a 35 minute drive from our main city of Kahului.  If you've ever wondered what Door of Faith Road looks like, then join me on this short video tour taken on the Realtor Caravan this morning.

As you can see, when you're in Huelo, you're in the country.  Horse pastures and homes share the landscape with lush tropical vegetation.  The road is paved and unpaved, and narrow in spots.  Please drive slowly.  

This part of Maui can receive about 75 inches of rain in a normal year, making for some great growing conditions.  Tropical flowers and plants thrive, and you can easily grow such things as bananas, heliconias, bird of paradise flowers, gingers and more.  We grow all these things, and an abundance of veggies on our 7.5 acres in Huelo.  Life is good on the north shore of Maui!

Is it the Door of Faith road because you have to have faith no one is coming the other way??

75 inches of rain - that is why the vegetation is so lush! We get plenty of rain here also!
