Maui Blog - Georgina M. Hunter R(S): ustream.tv first video and I'm jumping in

ustream.tv first video and I'm jumping in

ustream.tv test video

I really don't feel that relaxed when I'm trying to do this, so I think it's just a matter of practicing until it feels natural.  I made about 6 test videos before this one!  This one is passable for now.  I really want to be able to do a live stream from Maui properties, as we get a lot of buyers from off-island.  This should really make things easier, I hope!

You are going to be great!  I think practicing is the key... It is not easy to do these videos.

Hi Georgina, You could use a little more light in your video, but it's pretty good for your first time!

I find it really hard to do video.  I think practice makes a difference.

Great video and great idea to stream from properties live! See, this is what youtube is missing!

Joan - thanks!

Amanda - too much light was a little scary for first attempt!

Christine - I don't like it much either - I feel like a deer in the headlights.

Todd & Devona - I wish YouTube did it, and I could eliminate a step.

Thanks for all the comments!

You're a natural! And, since only about 1% of agents actually engage in streaming video, you're also in an elite class!

Georgina,

Don't have the camera positioned below you.  Get it at your eye level so you are not looking down into it and it is seeing the ceiling.  The video is not loaded here, it is on UStream so to watch it I am shifted from this page to another page.  Because of this you are loosing your google juice here and building it there, is that what you want?  I am not sure the benefit of a live feed for real estate because the real power comes from people seeing it over time and having the post drive traffic to a house for sale.  I think you are doing great and practice will make you more comfortable.  Aloha.

With time you will be great. I went to school for radio/tv broadcasting (back in the 70s)and you would be surprised of how many people washed out of the program. It take hours of practice and you have to believe in both yourself and your product

Thanks for the encouraging comments.  I'm not sure if I'm that impressed with Ustream TV, compared to just a flip camera and Youtube.  It's so choppy and poor quality for a start, and then there's all the advertising which is really annoying.  Anyway, I'll give it a shot and further evaluation, and will keep all your tips in mind.

Adorable! Ah, to be young and pretty! That sure helps when doing a video like that!!!

Georgina, Are you using a webcam or a flip? I have found just talking to the eye of the camera works best for me … otherwise I just over-think the process and get lost in my own message. As with most things … it does get easier … and more comfortable … the more we do it.

Hello Georgina - What a great idea.  Good luck with it.  I have often considered live broadcasts of my inspections so that folks that can't make it can still be there.
