They say it rains every day in Haiku, but what do they know?
You know they say it rains every day in Haiku Maui and that may or may not be true. On the 2nd Thursday of each month the Maui Realtors get together to view the new listings for the north shore. In all the years I have been doing he Realtor caravan in Paia and Haiku there have been very few Thursdays when it is raining. Like maybe once a year.
Today is one of those days with some sprinkles in Haiku, just a refreshing mist. But most of the time I can say the Realtor caravan for the north shore of Maui is sunny. By midday the clouds were gone and it was another beautiful day in paradise, as usual.
And you know what else they say... no rain no rainbows.

And what's wrong with a little rain anyway? On average you might get anywhere from 30-75 inches of rain in Haiku, depending on where you are, and the year. We are kind of in a drought on Maui and in some areas like Kula they are on voluntary water cut-backs, and the ground is dry and hard. Not so in Haiku. Everything is lush and green thanks to those early morning showers.

I think it's kind of cool to get a gentle mist once in a while.
Wow, that is a great picture. I never been there, I need to go. Everyone I know that has been there loved it.
Thank you
What a terribly gorgeous place. Remind me again how come we all do not live there? As I dig out my winter boots and snow shovel in preparation for winter......
Unreal! Looks like the GARDEN OF EDEN!!! (minus the snake!) Love it!
Hey thanks for the quick comments!
Robert - probably because the prices here are kind of high! And maybe because there's no skiing?
The misty rain makes my hair frizz up like crazy! Then the "mop" gets hot around the neck and I have to wash and blow dry all over again to get it all down smooth.
But if I lived there with the views you share with us....well I guess I could live with a shaved head.
Coming to you from Texas...
Georgina, I too like rain! Gorgeos photo! Thanks for sharing paradise with us!
Georgina - this looks like a painting rather than a photo - what beautiful colors! thanks for sharing this!
Hey thanks again - have a great weekend everyone.
Great photo. As for the drought, our drought broke this year and we have had ample moisture. Hope your drought will soon break and bring some good rain to your area.
Hey Georgina this picture is breath taking, thank you so much for the beautiful view :)
