Star Noodle in Lahaina Maui gets my vote!

I wish these guys were on my side of the island instead of over in Lahaina.  You'll find them up above the Lahaina Gateway Shopping Center, in the industrial area.  It's worth searching for if you want to experience some really good Asian style food.

I should have tried their famous noodles, but when I saw the table next door getting the Vietnamese Crepe with shrimp and pork, I knew that was what I wanted.  It was unreal.  The filling of the crepe had a subtle coconut sauce along with the shrimp, ground pork and bean sprouts.  I was instructed to cut up the crispy crepe and wrap it in the lettuce leaves along with some of the fresh herbs like mint, Thai basil and cilantro.  Add a little Thai chili sauce and see if you can eat it without making a big mess! (not so easy)

I was told to try the garlic noodles, but wasn't sure I wanted to have garlic breath for the rest of the day!  I'm thinking I should have got an order to go.  You can bet my next trip to Lahaina will include a stop here at Star Noodle!

I wish these guys would open a second location in my area of Colorado. Your pic is great and your description of the food is making my mouth water. My husband is a chef and his speciality is Thai Food, but he now works at a steakhouse and there's no room for Thai food.

Debbie - maybe your hubby can start his own restaurant and get creative with the Thai food!

Thanks for your nice comments on my blog. It's funny the way my life turned out. I was raised by a single, vegetarian father with no imagination in the kitchen. We ate a lot of pizza and bean chile. I was also a real tomboy. My poor grandmother did her best to teach me to cook, and that's a good thing, because I can cook, but I don't like to. So I married well. For 18 years Dan has cooked almost every dinner. Now, for the last two year, he works nights, and I have to fend for myself.

Food is beautiful. It's that simple. Thank you for reminding us all we are what we eat!

I cook almost every night, and it sure gets old!  We have an extensive veggie garden, and a freezer full of our own grass-fed beef, so I have no excuse not to cook, except that sometimes I'm just too lazy.  It's nice to eat out and try some new flavors once in a while.

Thanks for all the comments!

Grass fed beef is the best. You are lucky to have that.
