The Mana Kai beachfront resort in South Maui is going a little greener these days, by upgrading the lawn to a more drought tolerant grass which will require less watering. Isn't that a great idea? You can see the landscaping job underway next to the pool. That's Keawakapu Beach in the background, right next to the resort.
Currently at the Mana Kai there are 2 active listings... $949,000 and $999,000. Both units have wonderful ocean views overlooking beautiful Keawakapu Beach. Maintenance fees are $986/month.
In the past year there have been 3 sales in our Maui MLS... $990,000 $925,000 and $925,000.
All units in this 8 story oceanfront building are 2BD/2BA with 767 sf interior space and a small lanai on the beach side. There are elevators and a front desk. There's even a nice oceanfront restaurant, the Five Palms, and a convenience store on site at ground level. You really could spend a week here and never leave!
Kihei Maui is known as a perfect vacation destination because of all the sunny weather and white sandy beaches. But visitors like to see some tropical greenery and lush grounds, which requires maintenance and irrigation. There is a trend towards xeriscaping these days, but let's face it, do you really want to look at cactus when you come to your beach condo on Maui? It just wouldn't be the same without plumeria flowers and beautiful hibiscus and gingers.
