Windsurfers at Ho'okipa Beach Park on a windy Maui day - short video

Ho'okipa Beach Park is one of the best known windsurfing destinations on the planet.  This little beach on the north shore of Maui is quite famous and popular with people from all over.  Due to good wind and wave conditions, you can usually launch your rig almost any day of the year.  In the summer time this park is blessed with strong winds, and in the winter the big waves come up and can reach as high as 40'.  Kitesurfers and surfers also enjoy this spot and it's a rare day when you'll see nobody out.

Paia town is just a couple of minutes away, where you can find shops and services, many restaurants, gas stations, a bank and a post office.  Pretty much anything you need, including lodging.

If Paia and Maui North Shore real estate is what you're after, there's lots of that for sale too.  This part of Maui is in demand and prices range from affordable to outrageous.  As you can imagine, the closer you get to the ocean, the more expensive the housing prices, with oceanfront homes for sale at a premium.

I thought you were going to show some 40 footers Georgina.  Looked like about a Force 6 which is plenty to get the party started!

Surfers are crazy dudes........I know, I live with one! You would not catch me in that water with the warning sign right on the beach, but that is me.

Yes we get a lot of wind on the north shore, but that's what makes it so great for the windsurfers.

Thanks for your comments!
