Wonderful night at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center - Na Hoku Hou Award Winners Concert
Over the weekend we were lucky to attend the very first annual Na Hoku Hou Award Winners concert at our fantastic Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului Maui. This was our first time to see the newly unveiled Yokouchi Pavillion which is where the entertainment was playing. This versatile venue can be outward facing for a large event, or inward facing for a more intimate seating such as last Saturday night. We were really quite surprised by the small crowd of only about 250 people. Our table at the front was a great vantage point to enjoy the local musicians: Kainani Kahaunaele; Hot Club of Hulaville; Mark Yamanaka; and Kalapana.
It was a great time! Not only was the music enchanting, there was hot food and cold drinks being served in the courtyard. The evening was warm, with soft trade winds blowing the palms as the sun went down. The four hour performance was worth every penny.
If you have never visited the MACC, I strongly recommend it. This is a facility that we are very proud of on Maui.

Georgina,
Beautiful center. I'm sure there are going to many wonderful years of programs here. :)

That pavilion is beautiful. I’d go to the concert just to see that!
Steve and Jim - It's really great! Better than expected. They say all the improvements cost around $13M.
Georgina - that is an amazing structure and fits so well into the Hawaiian landscape! Really beautiful!
Have an outstanding weekend!
