Georgina:

They are creepy.  I have seen a lot of star fish, but this is a new one for me.  Do they smell, is that why they are called stinkhorn?

What are they?  I've never seen them before. Where are they found in Maui?

They are fungi growing on the wood chip mulch under a tree, and they're about 2 inches high.  They only last a couple of days and I have only seen them a few times over the years.

Hi Georgina,

They are creepy looking but part of the wonders of nature. I do not think I have ever seen them before?

 Very Interesting!

Georgina, just looking through your posts and this one definitely got my attention.  Very bizarre looking, but then they probably don't think much of me :)
