ABC Stores of Hawaii go green with solar power

ABC Stores are using solar energy from photovoltaics on 13 of its stores and offices on four islands here in Hawaii. Maui has 4 of these green stores, Oahu has 7, the Big Island has 1 and Kauai has 1. The central warehouse in Honolulu has the largest system, and all were installed by Sunetric.
ABC Stores President and CEO Paul Kosasa is proud to say that ABC Stores are reducing their dependence of imported fossil fuels.
ABC Stores originated here in the islands, with the first store opening in Waikiki in 1964. They sell souvenirs and sun tan lotions, and almost anything a tourist could need. Almost all of the stores are open every day of the year from 6:30 am to 1:00 am. You can also find ABC Stores in Guam and Saipan, and now even Las Vegas (that's where a lot of Hawaiians go when they retire).
You won't find any ABC Stores on the north shore of Maui but you can find them in Kihei and in West Maui.

Solar power is certainly where the future is going to be. Clean power! Great post, Georgina.
