If you live on Maui and work in Kahului, you'll know that your lunch choices are pretty limited.  Sure there's plenty of fast food joints, and you can always grab something like sushi or a sandwich at numerous places, but sometimes you want to sit down and have a really hearty meal.  Brigit and Bernard's Garden Cafe in Kahului Maui fills the bill.  Where else can you find an authentic Wiener Schnitzel?!

It's easy to miss the restaurant because it's tucked behind a fence and hidden from view by trees.  It really is a garden cafe, with outdoor seating as well as indoor seating.  The shady courtyard is a great place to take clients if you want a substantial meal and good service.

Brigit and Bernard are a couple from Germany who transplanted to Maui many years ago.  They have a good thing going here, and it's often very busy at lunch time.  I haven't been there for dinner, but I imagine they fill up too.

What else is on the menu?  Ravioli and pasta, salads and sandwiches, chicken and steak, burgers, and beer of course!

How Wonderful, to learn that an an ***Authentic German Restaurant***  is located on Maui !!!  For those who like German food, this place is a real treat.  I can see this place must be very popular, especially in such a unique location.  I myself, love German food. Love German food and I bet after a while one can get tired of fast food and sushi!  When I get back to Maui I will have to stop in.  Thanks for the heads up!

Georgina-Weiner Schnitzel in Maui? I can dig it. Not the type of food one thinks of being associated with Hawaii, but I guess a good weiner schnitzel and a cold beer will work most anyplace in the world.
