Green anthuriums at Mama's Fish House on Maui's north shore

Have you even had lunch or dinner at Mama's Fish House Restaurant on Maui?  Besides great food, impeccable service and a beautiful location, they always have the most stunning flower arrangements.  Look at these green anthuriums!  They are real flowers, not fakes, and last a long time in water.

Green anthuriums at Mama's Fish House on Maui's north shore

Tropical flowers like these grow well in Hawaii, and especially in wet areas.  On the north shore of Maui you can grow anthuriums and orchids in a nice shady spot.  From Haiku to Hana it's all prime farmland for tropical flowers and fruits.  We are blessed with plenty of rainfall and sunshine, and a mild warm climate year round.

We've eaten there and love it. Great... now I'm hungry for seafood! Also really like your photo... such an interesting plant.

Georgina: Looks like everything grows well in your area. Maybe they give that plant a little fish food; we use to empty our aquarium water on the plants and they always did well.

Have a nice weekend.

These flowers were in my wedding bouquet. They were pink with green running through them so beautiful. I am going to see if I can find a picture and post it. Great post.

Georgina, They are beautiful flowers.  I have seen them here on the east coast in hotels and other public places, but darker green.  There must be many varieties.

HI Georgina, Great photo and the plant is huge. We can buy them here but very tiny ones. I cannot wait to find out myself in person next summer. I am planning a trip to Hawaii.

Yes they come in all colors, with red being the most common.  i have seen pink, green, red, and purple, and combinations.

Kristin you are lucky to be planning a trip to Hawaii.  I hope you make it to Maui!
