Kauai needs your help  - stop poisoning paradise

What if your neighbor had 18 tons of toxic chemicals to spray around, EVERY YEAR, and they were up wind of you?  Would you like to know what they were spraying, and when?

People of Kauai want to know these things too.  They have neighbors who want to test tons of nasty restricted poisons on the environment. It's not right.

What are they spraying on their GMO test crops on Kauai?

Who are they?

Dow, Syngenta, Pioneer, and BASF

4,000 people showed up and marched to make a statement about this issue and the right to have total disclosure about what's being put into the air and onto the ground.

Learn more about their cause here and see if you can help...

Thousands March in Support of Bill 2491 - see plenty pics!

GOOD MORNING GEORGINA .. How are these restricted chemicals getting to the islands? No regulations or checks?

Ew, Georgina, this made my skin crawl.  Why on earth would people be doing this in a populated area?  I realize there's a need to test this poison, but they should do it on themselves!!!!  Seriously, this is unacceptable.

Thanks for your comments Gabrielle and Juli.  It's all about the money and greed has a way of opening doors and facilitating things.  I guess they thought there was such a small population that nobody would make a fuss.  I think they picked the wrong place to test their chemicals.... as if there is a right place.

Georgina, you pegged it right...it's all about corporate greed and if you don't speak up then it is as though you accept the consequences.

Hi Georgina - I'm sick to think that someone is polluting such a irreplaceable paradise!

I understand about the need for corporate profits, but it should be done in a way not to harm the planet.

Make it a great week!

Georgina, it's not only about pollution, what is this stuff going to do to people and animals who eat those plants? Often these effects don't surface until years later.

Hi Georgina,

This is horrible and the impact on the environment will call destruction to the people, the soil, crops, and wildlife and even the protected species. I think you are right when you said it is such a small place so probably no one would notice or make a fuss. I see that if this word gets out, that tourism will drop off greatly and I am sure this is a major industry in Hawaii. Well good job Georgina, keep up the fuss and spread the word as we do not want our US paradise destroyed.

Thank you all for voicing your concern about this practice.  With enough outcry something will change.
