Maui Blog - Georgie Hunter R(S): Maui Escape Rooms in Lahaina is a fun family activity

Maui Escape Rooms in Lahaina is a fun family activity

Maui Escape Rooms in Lahaina is a fun activity you can do with the whole family.

You may have heard of this type of activity on the mainland, but it's a first for Maui. They have 2 themes for the rooms, one is Jail Break, and the other is Bank Heist.  A third room is being prepared for December with a Christmas theme.  More variations will be coming soon.

Most people aren't trying to escape from any rooms on Maui, but this is a good escape for a rainy day if you don't want to be stuck in a condo or hotel.  Search for Maui condos for sale here.

The concept is that you're "locked" in a room and have to find the clues to escape.  Clues can be found as you progress, and you have to get creative to find some of them.  It's definitely a teamwork experience and everyone gets to try their hand at solving the puzzles.

We did the Bank Heist and found it to be quite challenging, but thankfully there was a pretty smart guy in our group who helped a lot! Yes, some easy math was involved, but having a calculator and pencil and paper was helpful.  If you find yourselves getting stumped, the hosts will feed you small hints on the TV screen, as they are monitoring your activity to make sure you don't get too far behind.  You should be able to complete the game in one hour.

HELP - get me out of here!

They have small lockers so you can put your valuables away, and ask that you don't take pictures or give away any of the clues to the next guests.  There's a comfortable lobby where you can hang out and play some games or puzzles while you're waiting.  The owners and staff are very friendly and will explain the whole process if you're not familiar with it.

It's really fun to try this activity and find all the clues! I totally recommend Maui Escape Rooms if you're on Maui - as a family event, or even a corporate team building event.

It can also be fun to find a home for sale in Lahaina or West Maui.

Can you find the key to escape?

My youngest attended one in San Francisco and found it way too easy. Hope yours are challenging.

Love Maui but without children I don't think I would do this but it does look like fun for the family.
