Waikapu on 30 - shady picnic tables with a Maui view

Waikapu on 30 is a great place for a breakfast or plate lunch, where you can sit outside at a picnic table in the shade, overlooking a beautiful view of Maui's central valley.  You can see the harbor and check out which cruise ships are berthed for the day.  You can also see the other shore at Maalaea Bay where the whales come to spend the winter.  Straight across is the magnificent vista of Haleakala mountain which makes up a large part of this island.

Georgie, I'm in love every single time I absorb one of your localism posts! Seriously. It just pulls at the Hawaiin part of my heart. I believe this was one of the little towns we frequented years ago and Maui has always been my very favorite island. I swear that I'm getting back there someday! (My hubby's clamoring to go to Alaska as he's never been there).

Good morning Georgie. I am taken in by these posts too. I have never been to your island but wish I were there now.

What a beautiful picture and a great place to grab a bite to eat. I have been to Hawaii only once and I was on one of those cruise ships in the harbor. Maybe you were looking at that very ship when I was on it?!!
