What's so great about the Kula 200 neighborhood?

Kula 200 is one of the premiere neighborhoods in Upcountry Maui, situated where Pukalani meets Kula, and technically it's in Pukalani but it sure feels more like Kula.  Street names in Kula 200 include: Aulii Drive; Aulii Place; Poha Place; Lealea Place; Hoopalua Drive; Welina Place and Alokele Place.

Lots of space:  This subdivision was created in the 1970's as an Agricultural subdivision to allow owners to build a house and cottage on a few acres.  It's well thought out with underground utilities and winding roads which give it a nice country feeling.  You can see goats grazing and lot of mature fruit orchards as you drive through this desirable neighborhood.  The homes are generally upscale with attractive landscaping.  Not everyone has built 2 homes on their 2 acres, so it's very low density.

Close to schools:  Some of the best private schools on Maui are located upcountry, including Kamehameha School which offers education in all things Hawaiian.  The public high school for all of upcountry, King Kekaulike, is adjacent to the Kula 200 neighborhood.

Quick commute to Central Maui:  Kahului and Wailuku are only about 15 and 20 minutes away by car, down the Haleakala Highway which has 2 lanes in each direction.

Cool climate:  Elevations here start around 1,600 ft and this means a much cooler climate than down at sea level where the resorts are.  So besides just great sleeping weather, you can also grow more temperate plants such as apples and peaches.

Finding a home for sale in Kula 200 might be a challenge as they don't come on the market very often and it's probably listed in Pukalani, but may also be in Makawao!  Let me help you with that search and set you up with auto-notifications as they come on the market.

  • 4 sales in the past 12 months priced from $1,060,000 to $2,400,000
  • 3 were a single home and 1 was a house and detached cottage

  • there's 2 Pending sales priced at $1,150,000 and $2,000,000 with each a single home
  • 3 Active listings priced from $1,475,000 to $2,226,000 and one of these is a house with cottage and a pool... see picture above
