Barbara Todaro Starter houses (single family homes - not condo or townhouse) are sometimes in the $400,000's but more likely in the $600,000 and up range.  The median price is in the high $700,000's.

Endre Barath, Jr.  Yes prices here are low compared to your area, and so are the property taxes.  That's why so many from CA have second homes here.
