A Day at the Beach on Maui
Last weekend we celebrated our wedding anniversary, at the Maui Prince Resort, which made us take some time off, and GO TO THE BEACH! After living here for 28 years, I have to admit that going to the beach is not one of my top priorities any more. Somewhere along the way, other things became more important, like being a homeowner and taking care of "the most important investment in your life". We have been very fortunate, and have a wonderful home on Maui that needs a fair amount of maintenance... but we enjoy it immensely, and it's worth it.
Meanwhile, back at the beach things remain the same. It was the beautiful Maui beaches that hooked me from the start.... way back in 1978. We camped at a little beach for a whole month, back in the day when you could do that. Each morning we would wake up and jump into the water before doing anything else. There is just NOTHING that compares to a day at the beach.
See the BEACHES along South Kihei Road, and the North Shore BEACHES.
What makes the beach so special?
- sand in your toes
- sun kissed skin
- salty lips
- wet hair
- sound of the waves
- smell of the ocean
- fun in the water

So get out there and go to the beach and have some fun. It will recharge your batteries and make you happy to be alive. If you come to Maui and get hooked like me - let me help you find the perfect home for you. Just tell me what you're looking for, I'm listening.

the beaches look great..wish I was there..here in Las Vegas-it is just hot-today abvout 110 degrees...
Wow!! You made me miss Maui, it's been 2 years since I've visited the Islands.....you live in one of the most beautiful places in the world! Congratulations on your wedding anniversary.

Send more pictures.
Okay so now I'm really jealous! Thanks for the beautiful pics. Veronica
Okay time to get back to work Georgie.
the better question is why wouldn't you move to Maui.........
Michael S - here on Maui it's in the high 80's, we might get up to 90 or 91 today, with a cool breeze.
Michael L - thanks! You'd better get back over for another visit.
Kenneth - check Localism for plenty more pictures
Veronica - you're welcome.
Steve - this IS work! This is really hard work, don't you know?
Konnie - you're right!
Georgina- We went to the beach on July 4th only to get kicked off by lightning. Ah, your photos are amazing. My mom and I went camping on the beach in Maui for a month too! Way back in the 70's. I had the time of my life! I loved it. We do make time to go to the beach here, otherwise why live here? SO in Maui we will make time too, once I get back. Ahola.
Congratulations on the anniversary. My anniversary is coming up on the 27th. My wife and I eloped to Hawaii in July of 2000. We fell in love with the islands and moved here two years later after a few cruises and vacations. We knew this is where we wanted to be.
Wow, your pictures bring back memories!! I lived on island for a little over a year and loved it!! There truley is nothing better than paddling out early in the morning on your surf board for a few hours before work!! Take a break from the work on your home and sit on Big Beach for me!!
Gorgeous! I wish I were there!
Georgina, happy anniversary. The Prince Resort is lovely. I hope you had a nice relaxing time off and enjoyed yourself reminiscing about your earlier days in Maui.
Katerina - the time of my life too! I forget how much fun it is to go to the beach, need to do it more often.
Patrick - you got hooked too! It's easy isn't it?
Hunter - OK, I'll be thinking of you when I'm at the beach next time. Thanks for dropping in.
Toni - it's just a plane ride away....
Gena - I can't believe it's been 30 years since I first visited here. And wouldn't you know it, time has flown.
Thanks for the reminder of why I work- to earn the money for a vacation in Hawaii!! Beautiful pics!!
Carol - thanks! I skipped that annual vacation to Hawaii step, and went straight to "live in Hawaii". I'm really glad I made that decision a long time ago.
Just like Florida!!
Ronald - yup, but the water's a little cooler, and there's mountains in the background. Come on over and check it out.
Having lived in Seattle, Mauii was my tropical paradise getaway a number of times in my 20's and early 30's. Lately I've been to the Caribbean a bunch and just recently decided the Hawaiian islands still rock! It's time to plan a return trip. I've been missing it lately.
I love the Pictures. Not only Is Maui my favorite island, It is my favorite vacation spot! I'm glad you took the time to enjoy your beautiful beaches. Happy Anniversary. Lisa Long - Keller Williams Realty North County, Paso Robles, California
Kathy - you are right - Hawaii is the place to be. Let me know when you're coming - we can get together.
Lisa - I hope you'll call me up next time you're here too.
Aloha!
Georgina - I never tire of your photos! It's so relaxing to take a few minutes and see what piece of paradise you're sharing with us.
Congratulations on your anniversary!
Debbie - thanks for coming by and the nice comment.
Wow, great shots. I hope that ONE DAY I will make it too Hawaii! Are there really houses with no doors?
Vicki - I hope you can make it here too! You know, the other day I saw a listing with no wall! It was a fixer-upper, more like a tear downer. Not so sure about the no doors thing, unless you count those homes with the roll away windows/walls so you can mix indoors and outdoors.
Georgina - I have to admit, I don't get to the beach as much as I would like to! But just driving along side it and watching the water is something I will NEVER get tired of!!!!
BJ - maybe you could have a trip to Hawaii for your next anniversary?
Believe me, I wish I could!! Just last year, I made it to CA, hopefully within the next few years, I'll go a little farther yet to HI!! BTW, seeing the mountains, is like CA, gorgeous! Your right FL doesn't have that, but I do prefer the warmer water temps!!
Ronald - our ocean water is much warmer than CA. Most surfers/windsurfers/divers don't wear wet suits here.
Water temp fluctuates here in the low 70's to upper 60's in winter and low to mid-80's in summer. I can't swim in it in winter, although most snow birds (people from up north) love it, because that is about the warmest their water gets in the summer.
Ronald - just let me know when you're coming over to Maui and I'll be sure to point you to the best beaches - no wet suit needed.
THANKS!!
Georgina - what great photos and I remember my visit to Maui last summer - great memories! Especially now that it is so cold!
Sharon - the beach pictures are sure looking good now!
Aloha! Thanks for your post. We just came back from our third year in a row of taking our kids to Maui. What a fabulous place! We'll be back.
Rob and Camille - you're so lucky to be able to bring the family to Maui - I know you'll be back. What part of the island is your favorite?
