Maui Off the Grid - Sustainable Technologies
If you live on Maui, you might be considering lowering your energy costs with a grid-tie-in system. If you live off the grid, you might want to know more about how to power up your home, or learn about water catchment.
There's a FREE HOT TOPICS class this coming Friday, July 25, 2008, at the Realtors Association of Maui, from 2-4 pm.
Michael Schwarz, of Sunsation LLC, will be speaking and sharing his knowledge with us, about photo voltaic systems, water catchment options, pumps and filters, and better cell phone reception in remote areas.

Aloha from Haiku - I'll see you there..... The HUNTER

I had also signed up for this one. Looks like a good class hunter.
Hi Georgina - wish I could attend!! I think it's terrific that your local board is offering great information on "hot" topics like this! Give us a synopsis if you go!
Pete - yes it will be interesting to see another viewpoint this time... last time Laf did the presentation.
Mary - OK I'll try and beat Pete to it... hahaha. Pete I get dibs.
Hey can you guys take notes and email me the class looks great.
Steve
Steve, you have to attend yourself. I think Terry might be "taping" it for future reference too.
Mary - I have to confess I didn't go - had to show a listing instead. Pete has posted on his other blog and I have encouraged him to post here as well. The good news is that many Realtors are interested in learning more, for their own benefit.
Terry did tape the class so we it should be available online soon. I will try to put together my notes for an AR blog sometime in the next few days. There was some great information on both off the grid and net metered possibilities as well as some good information on catchment systems.
Aloha Georgina,
Thanks for the info, I've been dreaming of getting off the grid but I just haven't found the right opportunity yet.
Peace,
Kimo, sometimes necessity is the mother of invention.
How I would LOVE to live off the grid!
