ING DIRECT is opening a Café in Waikiki soon.
Have you heard about ingdirect.com? It's an online banking and lending business that offers "not your ordinary mortgage". They do residential loans and refinancing, without loan origination fees or points.
- NO fees
- NO minimums
- NO catches
Their business model consists of a coffee shop atmosphere, where consumers can sit and have a cup of coffee while doing their banking. ING DIRECT is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware with innovative ING DIRECT Cafés in multiple locations across the U.S. where you can experience what Electric Orange is all about! They have Cafés for their stores.... LA, Chicago, New York, St. Cloud.
I talked with a customer service rep today who told me they are opening a Cafe in Waikiki this month. I think this will be good news for Hawaii home buyers who want to save some money on a home loan. They also encourage bi-weekly payments for no extra charge. Here in Hawaii, with the high price of housing, we can use all the help we can get.
Call these guys to talk about your loan, and once you are pre-approved, give me a call to find the right Maui home for you.

ING also offers wholesale loans direct to mortgage brokers. Lately ING wholesale has been under scrutiny for allowing their retail division to solicit clients which brokers had submitted through their wholesale channel. Not a great business model IMO.

Georgina- I like your hula doll:) Some of my kids all use Ing.
Lewis - I have not heard much about them until this week. Thanks for the input.
Katerina - so maybe ING is not so bad?
Georgina- I use Sharebuilder for my stock/bond purchases, and they were recently sold to ING. Since then I have seen various advertisements from them to encourage these other services, and it seemed good from what the ads stated, but I like my current banking set up. I had heard that there were some issues like the one pointed out by Lewis. I had not heard of one of these Cafes before; that is interesting.
Hi Frank! - how's your new website working for you?
My returning visitors has been greatly increasing, and I hope to have the last piece in place today for creating the final version of my planned mash-up. Otherwise, I have been keeping busy with work and family. I hope that you are having a busy season as well.
This is brand new news for me - I am going to check them out and find out if it is something I want to present to clients - thanks for the tip!!!!
