Maui Blog - Georgina M. Hunter R(S): Stop and Check your Twitpics - don't get stuck

Stop and Check your Twitpics - don't get stuck

stuck in the Maui mud

Check Your Twitpic uploads - it could be someone else's picture

Have you ever loaded a picture to Twitpic.com and added a comment to go with it?

Have you ever checked the picture and it was not your picture?  There was an imposter picture?

That happened to me twice in one day.  It stopped me in my tracks!  Where was my truck pic?  Who posted that cement truck driving on the freeway?  Did the person who posted the cement truck get my picture, or somebody else's?

To delete an unwanted picture just go to your Twitpic home page where the uploaded pictures appear.  Click the little trash can icon to the right of the wrong picture.  stop

What I find amazing is how many views a picture will get almost immediately!  How does that happen?

Check your links after you upload your pictures.  And if you want to see some nice images of Maui Hawaii, follow me on Twitter.com

Thanks for following me....  @mauihunter

I have never used Twitpic but will be sure to check it out and bookmark this post.  BTW the truck is a great remembrance why I don't like to go four wheeling.  :))

Heather - that was just taken on Friday - I believe it's still there - thank goodness it's not mine!

Charles - oh I feel sorry for you.  That could get ugly.

Leolinda - Twitpic is really easy to use, and when you post a pic it goes right to Twitter for you.  Try it.

Georgina, the thing with pics is sometimes you have no clue who the source was.

Posted by Justin Ukaoma : Kansas City Real Estate Investments (Vizion KC) about 1 year ago

Thanks for twitpic.com I'm always looking for a great place for my photos. That truck reminds me of my valentines day, my husband and I got stuck in a mud hole in our nissan altima. Our friend had to come pull us out with his 4X4. It will go down in the most romantic date!

Posted by DeVerie & Josh Riley~Your Realtors for Kern County~ (Associated Real Estate) about 1 year ago

Maureen - go out and get yourself a digital camera and get used to taking pictures

Justin - again it happened the other day!

DeVerie & Josh - that must have been a fun date!

Hi Georgina - I've really underutilized TwitPics. But now that you mention how many views some of them are getting, it's time for me to take a second look at it!

Nope, I can't say that's happened to me, but I do wonder how a pic gets so many views so quickly.  I'm still getting there with Twitter, check out my latest post: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1011439/More-on-Twitter-and-Tweeting-What-are-you-doing

Posted by Daren Krause (Keller Williams Realty) about 1 year ago

Georgina - Thanks for the heads up on the pics.  I haven't submitted any yet, but when I do, I'll remember to check and make sure it is the right one.  Now I know how to delete as well, thanks.

Posted by Troy Erickson - Your Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek Realtor (Terra Solis Realty, LLC) about 1 year ago

Have had that happen to me as well with twitpic - it was my caption and someone else's photo - hope I deleted it before too many people saw it - I was talking about my son (called him my boy) and photo was some unknown man.  Made me laugh.

Posted by Carolyn Gjerde-Tu - Davis Ca Real Estate (Lyon Real Estate) about 1 year ago

Darren - thanks - I'm now following you too

Troy - glad to help

Carolyn - funny!  I wonder how it happens?

Posted by Georgina M. Hunter R(S) e-Pro Maui Real Estate Sales (Jim Sanders Realty Inc. - Maui) about 1 year ago

Georgina, I don't have any idea how to post a picture on twotter... I am going to try because of this post.. hopefully I won't have the issue you had... but I will at least make an attempt..

Posted by Joanne O'Donnell (Chic Home Interiors - Stager, Trainer & EcoProfessional) about 1 year ago

Wow, never thought of this for twitpics.  I have checked shortened url's because I often get them from someone else and when I try to open them, they don't work.  Guess from now on I will check everything I send out.  It really is a good idea anyway. Thanks for a really useful post.

Posted by Gary Coles (Venture Realty Group) about 1 year ago

I appreciate the information and will go check out the site now.  I am going to REbar Camp in SF next week, I can try it out there!

Thanks,

Sandra

Posted by Sandra Mathewson, CRS, ABR, GRI, SFR (RE/MAX Complete) about 1 year ago

Joanne - Twitpic is just one of many services that will post your picture directly to your Twitter page.

Gary - it's a good habit to have - double check all links etc.

Sandra - have fun at REbar Camp!

Georgina...Great advice!  First, I guess I need to figure out how the photo portion works so that I can do that.  I have written your advice down first though, so that if it happens to me, I will be ready!  :)
